New Savings Calculator Reveals Propane Savings | Rotarex

The new MLD minimum level detector is the first reliable system that alerts drivers when an LPG cylinder is nearly empty.

Until now, there has been no effective way to know how much propane remains in a cylinder. This often results in forklifts running out of gas or cylinders being exchanged with a lot of propane gas still remaining. Internal studies conducted by Rotarex SRG show that, on average, 23% of propane gas is returned unused.

To help visualize how much money can be saved by not wasting propane during forklift operations over one year, Rotarex SRG has introduced a new savings calculator. Users simply enter information specific to their business into just two fields and then the pre-set values determine the annual cost savings. Results can be downloaded as a PDF for future reference.

Charles Strobel, Rotarex Global Marketing Manager, commented: “the savings calculator gives the user the option to choose liters or gallons, and select from US Dollars, Canadian Dollars or Euros. Plus, it’s easy to change pre-set values for the propane price and cylinder size, if necessary.”

Rotarex MLD is essentially a low propane fuel gauge. It uses a phase detection sensor to recognize the liquid and vapor phases of propane in the cylinder. When the liquid phase in the tank is nearly depleted, the sensor detects the vapor phase. The driver is then alerted that the cylinder is getting low. And, since MLD is carefully calibrated, there is enough LPG gas remaining to allow a task to be finished and ensure safe return back to the storage facility.

MLD is now available through local distributors and installers around the world.
