What is a storekeeper at Rotarex?
The warehouse worker's job is to manage stocks. He/she plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of receiving, storage, order-picking and shipping operations. This requires rigorous inventory management, excellent organization and the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs. Our warehouse operators work with SAP and InforCom softwares. Soon, they should all be using SAP, which will greatly facilitate operations. They work with the FIFO (First In First Out) method, where the first items stored must systematically be the first to be sold.
What's the perfect profile for a storekeeper?
Storekeepers can be young or old, male or female, because there's no such thing as a typical profile. What counts is the energy and the ability to work as part of a team. The perfect warehouse worker must be able to adapt and help each other out, making sure to leave a clean working environment for the next colleague. Mutual respect and effective communication are essential. Qualities such as the ability to work independently, conscientiousness, rigor, patience and resistance to stress are crucial. Storekeepers must also be able to take the initiative and react quickly to unforeseen situations.
A typical day for a storekeeper?
A typical day for a storekeeper involves routine tasks and varies between busy and quieter periods. Warehouse employees keep production running smoothly, replenishing stocks and making items available for orders. In quieter periods, the storekeeper devotes his or her time to inventories, ensuring that every item is checked at least once a year. He/she is also responsible for tidying up and keeping the store clean. In short, the 8-hour working day is a busy one, with the main objective of maintaining production continuity by ensuring stock availability and quality.
What are the day-to-day interactions of the department?
The department's interactions are mainly internal. The warehouse worker works closely with his/her department manager, colleagues, production and PPS, accounting for 90% of exchanges. He/she also communicates with the incoming inspection and quality control departments, which receive and validate parts before they enter the warehouse stock. There may also be interactions with the sales, purchasing and billing departments.

Warehouse team composition and organization
There are four different warehouses: the reception area, opposite reception, handles all incoming goods (except for machining) and dispatches. Then there's one for Puretec, another for Firetec, Meditec, Automotive, Solutions and SRG. And finally, the central warehouse, dedicated to Selfa and Lumec. Each store can work up to 3 shifts.

The best thing about working as a storekeeper is the variety of tasks and goods to be handled. Every day brings new challenges and problems to solve, which makes the work interesting and unpredictable. Team spirit is strong, with a real sense of solidarity and effective communication that enables problems to be solved quickly. What's more, the freedom, autonomy and trust accorded to warehouse staff make the work rewarding and motivating.
