MLD increases forklift productivity

An industry first innovation from Rotarex SRG is the first working gas level detector for LPG forklifts. This minimum LPG gas level detector system, called MLD, essentially eliminates LPG gas waste, reduces forklift downtime and maintenance costs, and – most importantly – improves forklift truck safety.
MLD increases forklift productivity

Until now, forklift operators had no way to know with any certainty how much LPG gas was remaining in a cylinder. To protect against running out of gas, they would usually change cylinders at the end of a shift or simply when they thought it was nearly empty. We conducted a study and found that, on average, 23% of LPG remained in the cylinder when it was replaced. A substantial amount of LPG gas is thrown away, increasing gas expenditure.

As well, warehouse managers tell about many instances where an LPG forklift runs out of gas while in operation. Forcing the driver to walk back to the exchange cabinet to get a full cylinder, this is a safety risk - as heavy cylinders need to be carried or hauled from the exchange cabinet back to the stranded forklift.

Rotarex MLD if a forklift safety product that has also been shown to reduce downtime by 12%, making a real difference in productivity. Plus, it is very easy to install.

An essential forklift safety device, MLD is a phase detection sensor that recognizes the liquid and vapor phases of the LPG in the tank. When the liquid phase in the tank is nearly depleted, the sensor detects the vapor phase and alerts the driver. MLD is calibrated to ensure enough LPG gas remains to allow the driver to finish a task and return safely back to the storage facility.
