WHAT IS YOUR LABORATORY DOING?

Both laboratories work for all the business units of Rotarex represented in the countries where the company operates, covering all types of products. The materials laboratory analyzes existing products to meet client needs and consults with the production team whenever issues or concerns occur. They also collaborate with R&D department to provide essential information about new materials the engineers intend to use.
The technicians in the R&D laboratory are the first to see new products. Their main objective is to make these products work. The team participates in the development stage by conducting necessary tests on prototypes. The reports they provide after tests and homologation help to reassure the production process. Additionally, if any questions arise from the production team, they are always here to provide support.

WHAT DOES YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

For both laboratories, no two days are ever the same. In the materials laboratory, one day might involve checking material from a new supplier, while another could focus on examining internal issues. If the issue is related to the material’s properties, they analyze why it occurred and how to resolve it. In the R&D laboratory, technicians evaluate various product characteristics such as tightness, pressure, temperature, and more. Occasionally, they develop customized installations and tests to offer future customers solutions that go beyond standard norms.

WHICH ADVANTAGES DO WE HAVE AT ROTAREX THANKS TO THE IN-HOUSE LABORATORY?

REACTIVITY: When an engineer brings a product in the morning, the necessary tests can be performed immediately, avoiding any delays.

EXPERIENCE: By working with a wide range of products, the teams acquire in-depth knowledge of them, enabling them to work more effi-ciently.

MORE POSSIBILITIES: Our in-house facilities allow us to conduct non-standard tests. This can be extremely useful when analyzing poten-tial risks associated with the product. The tests can be customized to specific needs and, in some cases, may not even be available in exter-nal laboratories. During the development phase, if something doesn’t function as expected, the team can identify the issue and propose potential solutions.

WHAT ARE THE DEPARTMENT’S DAY TO DAY INTERACTIONS?

The laboratories are in everyday contact with R&D, Quality, Process and Prototyping teams.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK?

Materials laboratory
Diversity is key. Unlike other laboratories that focus on one or two main materials, Rotarex works with a wide variety of them. This makes the work both interesting and professionally enriching. The diversity of products is also motivating—one day, it’s medical gas products; the next, it’s solutions for the semiconductor industry.

R&D laboratory
This work is rewarding. Specialists can see the value of their con-tributions, following the product from its early stages to its real-life application. The “research” aspect offers opportunities to find creative solutions to challenges.
The work of a technician is essential. By collaborating with R&D, techni-cians ensure the product is approved and help optimize its functionality.

WHICH SUPERPOWER DO YOU HAVE?

Materials laboratory
The ability to identify any type of metal without even looking—just by touch. Working with metals every day, we know them by heart.

R&D laboratory
Our superpower is to always remain hyper-vigilant at work. We must ensure that potential product-related accidents are prevented before they can occur.
